Our Adoptable Pets
We always have a good selection of dogs and cats, kittens and puppies for adoption, and new animals come in all the time.  Click on the links below to view our current adoptables.  If you don't see just what you're looking for, let us know, and check back often.  You never know when your dream pet will come into our foster care program.  And one of our volunteers may know of a pet looking for a home just like yours in another local area shelter or rescue group.  Please scroll down for information on the adoption process and our adoption fee

The Adoption Process
Our adoption process starts with an application, which can be filled out online, or at our Saturday Adopt-a-Pet events.  We consider applications in the order they are received. Click here to fill out our canine (dog) application.  Click here for our feline (cat) application.  One of our volunteers will review your application and contact you via email to ask any questions we might have about your application.  Once approved, a volunteer will contact you to discuss the pet you are interested in and answer any questions you may have.  The next step is to set up a meeting for you to get to know the pet you are interested in.  We normally do this at our Saturday Adopt-a-Pet events, but we can also set up appointments at other times mutually convenient for you, the pet's foster parent, and an adoption coordinator.  We also reserve the right to perform a home visit for any adoption.  During a home visit a Cabarrus Pets Society volunteer or a volunteer from another rescue group will come to your house to see where your new pet will live.  If you're not sure which one of our pets would be right for you, we would be happy to advise you and introduce you to several, just let us know what you're looking for.

Please note that Cabarrus Pets Society's policy does not allow families with children under 6 years of age to adopt puppies under the age of 6 months.  The suitability of adult dogs, cats, and kittens is considered on a case by case basis.  Obedience training is encouraged for every dog or puppy adoption and required for select adoptions.  This policy is in place for the safety of both the animals and your children.

Because we follow up on every adoption, we prefer adopters within a 75 mile radius of Concord, NC and they will be given priority over out of area applications.  We will consider out of area applications on a case by case basis.
